Bacon-stuffed Cheeseburger Recipe

I saw this recipe on a Kraft sponsored TV show the other day. I made it that very night but of course I changed some elements to fit my tastes and what I had in the fridge. This is my version of the recipe.

And by the way, it’s probably the single best burger I ever ate! It was so moist and tender and filled with flavor.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (medium lean ’cause YOLO)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup BBQ sauce (use your favorite)
1 egg
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices bacon, cooked and chopped finely
1.5 tablespoon steak seasoning (I like the Montreal blend myself)
4 burger buns
4 cheese slices

Directions

Fire up the grill to medium-high.

Mix beef, steak seasoning, BBQ sauce, egg, and breadcrumbs; form 8 thin patties.

Mix shredded cheese and bacon. Put mixture in the middle of 4 patties with a spoon. Cover with remaining patties, pinching extremities to seal well.

Grill the meat 7-9 minutes on each side until cooked through. Don’t over-flip or your masterpiece will crumble apart. Add cheese slice to meat when you have a few minutes left. Grill the buttered buns slightly.

To serve, use your favorite toppings and condiments. Personally I put Dijon mustard on the cheese side, and ketchup as well as mayo on the other side. It’s delish…

Bon appetit!
