Music to write by #25

You would think that with a movie like King Kong (the 2005 version) the soundtrack would be all bombastic and scary. That might’ve been in James Newton Howard’s contract but he inserted some pretty cool romantic cues. A Fateful Meeting is my favorite from this score.

Slumdog Millionaire is the ultimate crowdpleaser and A.R.Rahman’s Oscar-winning score manages to mesh ethnic music with western sensibilities. Mausam And Escape will make you want to run on the treadmill while eating coconut curry.

Confession time: I know nothing about Balmorhea. The only thing I’m aware is that their music kicks major ass. This epic softy, Truth, mixes piano and strings to utter perfection.
