I Squirt on Demand

Do you need help picking your head up from the gutter? Geez, this is a family-friendly website (if you have the type of family that goes out for nachos and beer at the local strip club every Friday night – say hi to Natasha).

This said, I do Squirt on demand. In my neck of the woods, my favorite soft drink, Squirt, is hard to come by. If you’ve never had it, Wikipedia describes it as a “caffeine-free, citrus-flavored, carbonated soft drink, created in 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona”.

You know what else it is? Delicious, that’s what.

The other day I was feeling creative in the chemistry lab that at my house we call a kitchen. So I did this little experiment:

I had one of those mini 7.5-oz cans of Sprite lying around as well as some cans of Five Alive fruit juice blends. Time to mix and match.

I poured the entire contents of the mini can of Sprite into a glass and filled the rest with Five Alive, giving me basically a ratio of about 2-1.

Granted, it’s been a while since I had some Squirt but that’s what the taste immediately reminded me of. If you don’t have any Five Alive, try it with Sunny D instead.

Oh, and I’m contractually obligated to say the following: buy my books. Sorry, no special soft drink recipes or squirting of any type in them…

  1. Can we at least get a bookmark with special soft drink recipes?

A friend of mine found a way to mimic Dr Pepper, due to it being scarce in down under. I will see if i can get his recipe to share with you.

    • I’m a loyal Coca-Cola man myself and rarely stray. Bringing Pepsi in my house could very well lead to a well organized murder 🙂

Is it me or Dr. Pepper tastes exactly like Cherry Coke? I can chug it if I’m really thirsty but otherwise I’m not a big fan.

  2. Hi! I could have sworn I’ve been to your blog before but after browsing through some of the articles I realized it’s new to me.
Anyhow, I’m definitely happy I stumbled upon it and I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back frequently!
