Music to write by #12

It is common knowledge that if you play that song from Gladiator in your headphones you cannot be defeated in combat. Here is The Battle by Hans Zimmer.

The first time I heard Michael Nyman’s The Heart Asks Pleasure First from The Piano I didn’t like it. I know, I’m weird. It’s also possible it was because at the time I had to write a college paper on it. Now I just adore it.

The latest Robin Hood movie hasn’t received enough love in my opinion. If anything the soundtrack should make you break out in hives of happiness. It also made me discover a composer I didn’t know, Marc Streitenfeld. Fate Has Smiled Upon Us is one of the more epic pieces on the soundtrack.

  1. Thanks for the music suggestions! If I’m going to listen to anything while I write, I prefer instrumental stuff. Big E.S. Posthumus fan. 🙂

  2. Oh wow, didn’t know about E.S. Posthumus. I’m YouTubing it right now. Pretty epic, I love it!

Thanks for making me discover them…

  3. Haha, no problem! They’re one of those groups where you’ve probably heard a bunch of their stuff via commercials or movie trailers, but you don’t actually know who they are until someone tells ya. 😉

  4. A bit like Audiomachine, churning out tunes following a strict formula but at the same time sounding awesome.
