Music to write by – D-Day Edition

Today is the 67th anniversary of D-Day so we’ll start things off with the solemn Hymn To The Fallen from Saving Private Ryan, composed by John Williams.

A more adventurous film, but no less wonderful. This is Ron Goodwin’s Main Theme from Where Eagles Dare. The bombastic score doesn’t seem like it’s from the 60s at all.

To round up this World War II Monday, here is Journey to the line by Hans Zimmer, from the movie The Thin Red Line.
